Happy Winter

Merry Christmas :D

We opened last night!

Unfortunately due to rain not many people showed up.
Only maybe 300 or 400ish came because there was a downpour during the day.
Of course right when we opened it stopped raining, AFTER everyone decided not to come!
Oh well, it was basically a practice for tonight.
Tonight is going to be insane. They already called in extra cops and ambulances to be there to keep it all under control.

So our exhibit, The Black Woods, went great!
We just had one strobe and one fog crap out on us from the rain.
We're going to buy new ones on the way there and just replace them.

The weather is looking great for tonight which means I'll get plenty of pictures and NIGHT VISION VIDEOS. ;]
The night vision videos are going to be hilarious and I can't wait!

The Black Woods will be unveiled this Friday when the Spooky Walk opens to the public for 2007!

The big night is 2 nights away!
Friday night the doors will open and thousands of people will storm in to get scared!
We're all very excited and proud of how it came out.
Unfortunately we couldn't post many updates because once we got it going we couldn't show what we were working on or we'd give it all away!
It's definitely going to be awesome though.

Check back after it's all over for more behind-the-scenes videos and some hilarious reactions from guests being scared out of their pants! :D

We're going every day this weekend to finish building and running electrical,
the next week involves putting the effects up (strobes, fogs, etc) and then it's done!

Also after it's voer we'll be posting a full walkthrough of the entire exhibit.
Next year we will most likely be taking a house rather than the woods,
so we can reveal the secrets since it won't be there next year! ;]

Here are some update pics of the prgress we made on Saturday over at the Camp.

This is the frame for the entrance to the exhibit. You'll see how it's going to look once we work on it more. The doorway won't be that big. (My dad was there to help and he was trying to figure something out, don't mind him haha)


This is a coffin we brought over, which will be at the entrance and lit with a green or red light from inside.


This is our electric chair, it's laying on it's back. It almost looks like a recliner in the front thought, and that part will be coming off. It stands at I'd say about 6 feet-ish.

Building has begun!

We got a fair amount done today over at the camp.
There will be some pictures and a video up tomorrow, because I don't have time now haha.

Building starts today!

Kevin and I are heading over to the camp to start building today.
He has to leave halfway through the day but I'll still be there working.

Look forward to update pictures and videos very soon! :D

Haven't had an update in a while!

That's because we haven't been able to do anything!
Kevin went away for the weekend so we couldn't build or do anything at all.
This week we're going to the camp to start working on frames for the entrance and such.
We'll probably build...something else this week too.
I'd prefer to keep it under wraps for now. ;]

The entrance sign is finished!

We finished the sign for the entrance!
It looks AMAZING!

Kevin's Update

Hey! We are done with the sign, however Eric's internet for whatever reason does not work, so i have no pictures, but some will soon be on. We are going to start working on our next "project" within the next week. More updates to come.

Almost done building the sign!

Here are some pictures of painting and making the first cut last night.

You might have noticed already that we messed up! We painted all of the outside pieces black, and the inside of the front white and the inside of the back red. But when we made the first cut, we accidentally did it on the WHITE side of the front! Lmao we're just gonna have to re-spray paint when we're done cutting tomorrow night.
Luckily it's not a big deal at all.

PS. Since the sign isn't supposed to be a big surprise or anything, we are showing the entire behind-the-scenes process. For alot of the rest of the exhibit, we have some surprises in store. We can't show the building of everything or we'd give it all away! We'll show the stuff that isn't a surprise, and then after the Spooky Walk is over we'll show some behind-the-scenes stuff from the rest of the exhibit. :D

Tonight we put on the outer wood for the entrance sign.
It's looking GREAT!
We worked in Kevin's garage rather than mine this time.

Building has begun...

Well it's finally begun!
We're starting almost a month earlier this year, and we're making great progress already!

We started building the sign for the entrance tonight and finished the framework!

We're going to probably finish it tomorrow, then put lights in either tomorrow or another day.

It should be online by tonight, so I'll post in here again when it's up.

Also tomorrow starts the Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck carnival! It's running until Sunday and I'll be there every night. One of the night's I'll be promoting my videos as well as The Black Woods so if you get a flyer, you probably will visit the website, and you'll probably see this. So HI. ;]

If you want to scare, and you're over the age of 13, please contact either me or Kevin (click our names on the right for our contact info) and let us know. We'd prefer to know who we have coming then have people just show up, so let us know.

Scaring!

Hey guys its Kevin,
This summer I've been working at the camp, which is a good advantage at seeing what we have to work with, and increasing our resources, but we still do need some people to help us out the nights of, with scaring. A lot of people tell me they want to, but usually don't follow up on it, so think about it, its really fun, you get to scare the Daylight out of people, and there's Free Food! :D So I would consider it, and if you are interested shoot an e-mail over to the the Director of the Spooky Walk, and mention the Back Path. Either that send Eric or I a message.

Layout

I've got the layout for the exhibit in my head. Today since I won't be doing a whole lot but sitting around, I might draw it down. We're going to need to move the entrance further up on the trail because we'll need more room this year.

I'm going to see if I can make it so that both me AND Kevin can write in this blog. I think there's an option to do that, so hopefully soon both of us will be putting updates.

It's only July, we don't have to start working yet!

Now that the blog is up, I'll be updating it as progress is made on this year's Black Woods exhibit. For now just check back once in a while to see if there are updates. Once we start updating, we'll be working more and updates will come more often.
